GDRacing Canada's track warrior, a Honda RC51 SP2, proved itself during its debut 2010 season. Chassis and engine development gave huge returns in performance and handling during the 2011 season.
[GDRacing Canada rider Glenn Cauley during the 2011 RACE season]:
"Collaborating with various UK and American companies & individuals during the 2010/2011 off-season allowed us to make intelligent and well-informed decisions where to invest in our Honda RC51 SP2 racebike. With a focus on improving engine performance and reliability, major engine components were sourced and we worked with award-winning KWS Motorsports to do the head work. Legendary exhaust fabricator Mark McDade (formerly of Muzzy Kawasaki) designed an incredible full race 2-into-1 exhaust system, and coupled with the new larger CF open airbox and intake snorkel would allow the big twin to breath much better and get the power to the ground. The choice for final (total) re-assembly and tuning was a no-brainer; Z1 CycleTech in Toronto, Ontario who has extensive experience with the RC51 big twin. Dyno numbers were very impressive to say the least, with room for even more improvement. Chassis development included a refresh of the Traxxion Dynamics AK-Gas forks (superior to Ohlins) and replacing the aging Fox Racing shock with a new hi-tech Elka 3-clicker shock... the handling difference was enormous. All-in-all we made intelligent decisions on how to develop the racebike, and it certainly paid off. "
